Adding a splash of color for 2012

Here is a picture of our living room from last summer. I LOVE the cool colors we switched over to but sometimes I feel like it looks too old for us. It needed something to liven it up a bit.

I searched, and searched, and searched, and searched and could not find anything that would work. I was thinking coral would be a great pop of color but good Lord it is hard to find coral pieces!!!

I ran across this painting online a couple of years ago.

But I KEPT SEEING it in the most random places. "We tend to seek happiness when happiness is actually a choice." oh, I love it! Something I need to remind myself from time to time! I absolutely fell in love with this piece and had to have it. I found it for sale by Ballard Designs, of all places. Yeah, they wanted 249 bucks for it. So I let it go. But I suddenly found it at Gordman's for 70 bucks. I signed up for their mailing list and got 15% off. That is still a HUGE splurge for me but I used income tax money to buy it.

As much as I loved it, I didn't think it would go with the rest of our stuff. I made sure of their return policy before I got it home. But it was totally meant to be because LOOK at our gorgeous room now!

I LOVE it!!! I found these funky pillows at Gordman's as well. I think it is the perfect pop of color to freshen up our space.
Aren't they funky? It is super soft and I love the texture.

I put some of our blue Ball Perfect Mason jars on the sconces.

You can also see our lamps from this post in the room.

I am a lover of funky and eclectic things, not so much into "pretty". So this is definitely more US :)
