Give us this day our Daily Bread!

Hello friends!

I have suddenly been seeing old vintage bread boxes while on my treasure hunts.
How cute is this??

Well, I found a brand new one at Goodwill for $2 and had an idea...
This is the back, just to show you what I was working with.
(I forgot to take a before picture as usual. Darn my impatient tendencies!)

First, I painted it using Krylon Jade!

Then I emailed Burton Avenue to order another custom piece.
She has made me custom vinyl pieces for some of my favorite projects.

I wanted our bread box to say "Give us this day our daily bread"
Cute idea, huh?? :)
It was SO simple to put on.
You just peel off the backing and press on to your surface, and then peel off the top layer.

I thought it would look super cute on the china cabinet
We have an eat in kitchen so having it here also saves counter space.

Love it!!!

  3. Don't you just love Goodwill! Your transformation of that bread box is amazing. I too enjoy taking old items and making them new again, but I would have passed that old wooden box right by. You took it and totally turn it from out-dated and drab . . . to chic and goreous. I'm hooked on your blog. Say "Hi" to your newest follower.
Please come visit . . . who knows you might just decide to follow me back.
Have a great day, Connie :)

  9. I love your bread box! I, too, have noticed a lot of bread boxes lately on my thrifting trips. What's up with that? Is everyone giving up bread?
