Hello 166 friends!
Today I have three new Fenton Hobnail Milk Glass pieces to show you!
This "compote pedestal" is my largest piece yet.
I found it at Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall in Bryant, Arkansas.
I spotted it over a month ago but it was out of my price range.
(I have a strict $20 limit per piece)
I waited and waited and the price still didn't come down.
BUT I got a surprise check in the mail so I went to buy it right away :)
I found this sweet little "juice glass" at Blue Suede Shoes as well.
I like small, simple pieces like this to mix in among the more ornate pieces.
I found this "covered pedestal dish" at Antiques and Uniques in Bryant, Arkansas.
It was at the top of my milk glass budget
but considering the exact piece is over $70 for sale online,
I was comfortable with the price I paid!
Here is my collection now. Love it!
I continually play with the arrangement to make it aesthetically pleasing.
I am always on the lookout for taller pieces to help balance everything out.
I am on the HUNT for a Hobnail Cake Plate.
I have NEVER seen one in person and they are so, so expensive online.
I am going to ask for one for Christmas!
**UPDATE**
Today we went to Conway, Arkansas and I found this piece
It is SUPER tall and barely fits into the hutch.
But hey, I was just saying I was looking for some taller pieces!
So here is the arrangement now.
:) Hobnail Heaven
Gorgeous pieces! what is the black and white you have there on the bottom shelf?
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is a set from Hobby Lobby!
DeleteBeautiful! I love that covered dish outstanding..

So pretty! I've always loved milk glass, but if I start one more collection my husband will kill me!
ReplyDeleteFound your post via Sew Many Ways. I, too, love milk glass & have ever since I was little & my mother had it. The center of the dining room table had a huge milk glass fruit dish on it FOREVER! I went home one time & it was gone...my sister had taken it, along with all Mom's other milk glass. :( So I've had to build my own little collection from scratch.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend in the antiques business, and she says milk glass "doesn't sell." She doesn't even buy it when she sees it at sales & won't deal in it. All the more for the rest of us!!!
I love filling my milk glass with lilacs in the spring. Soooo pretty! :)
Your "167th Friend"

ReplyDeleteI just love milkglass....it always brings a smile to my face....and I don't own even one piece!
ReplyDeleteYour collection is lovely all together like that. Do you go to estate sales? I often run into these pieces at estate sales in Georgia.
ReplyDeleteYour Milk glass collection is lovely! I am so lucky here in South Carolina, there are great yard sales. I have found many of my collection at these yard sales.

Awesome collection!
ReplyDeleteMy first hobnail piece broke. :( On my foot. Double :( My mom gave it to me. I thought it was interesting at first, but then fell in love, especially after I didn't have it to use anymore. I have been on the hunt ever since. The other day I saw 2 small dishes for $9. After reading this, I have decided I need to get them. Tomorrow morning I'm going!
ReplyDeleteI hope my collection can grow like yours. I will be purposefully staking out all antique score in my area! Thank you for sharing!

We have some similar pieces but your collection is much bigger than mine. I actually am leaning more toward Westmoreland milk glass lately. I just sold 8 of the small juice glasses - it's fun to collect this, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have them displayed. I also have a milk glass collection but more by default than anything. People keep handing down milk glass to me and I have no clue why. In fact my mother in law gave me this huge vase today with grapes all over it. I nearly had a stroke because I seriously do not want one more thing in my house. But now that I have seen your post I appreciate the milk glass a teeny bit more. Too cool. I am stopping in from TheStuffofSuccess. Enjoy your week. Athena
ReplyDeleteNice. These are beautiful glassware.
ReplyDeleteLove your lidded candy dish and the ruffled basket, they are great finds! I've got about 250 pieces, and no, I am not a hoarder (well, only for milk glass!!!!)
ReplyDeletewhere are the pictures??? :)
DeleteGorgeous! I collect the hobnail milk glass, too. It was actually the inspiration for all the decor at my wedding - we had at least one piece on every table and mixed them with old Mason jars and tarnished silver pieces, too.
ReplyDeleteGoodwill stores, some estate sales, and occasionally Etsy will have great deals on these. Only downfall with Etsy is you can't inspect the item in person, but otherwise you can get some really nice, unique pieces on there for fairly cheap.
